As its executive sponsor, Wayne Banks, CFO, CSC in Australia is delighted to see enthusiasm brewing around GREEN WAY, CSCA’s overarching programme to reduce the company’s environmental impact.
Mr Banks says that as we operate in an increasingly carbon adverse business world, GREEN WAY has to be an integral part of our business in order to meet the expectations of our major stakeholders.
While the GREEN WAY programme has a large number of objectives, its key proposed deliverable is a 25% reduction in net carbon dioxide emissions by 2010 from 2007 levels.
“For us, Green IT means improving all environmental aspects of our operations, from the solutions we provide to clients, the way we operate our Data Centres, efficiency improvements in our facilities and engaging staff in thinking proactively about the environment,” says Mr Banks.
‘We intend to be at the forefront of sustainable practices and have our employees be proud that they work for an environmentally responsible company. We want to satisfy our shareholders’ needs for investing in a sustainable corporation and obviously our client’s requirements for efficient, cost effective solutions that minimise environmental footprints.”
CSCA’s commitment to GREEN WAY was highlighted by the appointment of Anthony Ogilvie to a full time position as Environmental Sustainability Lead for the programme. Anthony’s key responsibility is to create and drive the various components of GREEN WAY, with the support of a committee that meets on a monthly basis.
